Fast Response & Tech Advice

Door Washer Tool

An enquiry was received from an existing customer for  washers to be included in a high strength security door system.

This was an existing product that was being produced by another supplier at a high unit cost.

We were able to promptly quote for a press tool to produce the washers to a flatness tolerance beyond the normal commercial standard.

The unit price and tooling cost was accepted by our customer as the maths stacked up in terms of a quick payback on tooling investment.

The rapid tooling development principles that we follow allowed samples to be submitted quickly.

Feedback was absorbed from our customer and the first batch produced to their delight.

The quality and cost that was achieved along with our fast response at all stages secured this component as a new product for us.

Fast Response

Universal Clamp Plate

An enquiry was received for a replacement clamp plate with a rough outline Drawing.

The clamp plate to be quoted needed design and development to achieve improved strength due to failure under load of existing product.

The clamp plate would be welded onto various assemblies and was urgently required to replace failing items.

There was a limited tooling budget  and a need to rapidly develop a workable product.

We were able to quote quickly after considering various options and then set about the task.

Using our rapid tooling development approach and our in house expertise we produced a sample and established key dimensional features.

We were able to identify with the customer these key features to improve strength and reduce cost.

The process undertaken resulted in laser cut parts being formed in our press brake cell and finished to a high standard.

The first batch was supplied in time to  facilitate  their urgent  build programme .

We were pleased to demonstrate our “fast response metal engineering “ techniques and look forward to a good relationship with this new customer.

He’s Back On Track!

Breaking News!

Yes, that’s right – Alex  will return to the World Superbike paddock at Portimao in Portugal this weekend where he will make his WorldSSP debut with GEMAR Team Lorini.

He will ride for the Italian based squad in all remaining rounds of this year’s FIM Supersport World Championship.

As it is not possible to race with his customary #18, Alex will race a CBR 600cc Honda with the number 12 when he takes to the track in Portimao.

Alex was s regular top ten runner in WorldSSP300 last year and he is now relishing the opportunity to learn from the World’s best as he opens the next chapter of his racing career.

Following the signing of the documents Alex Murley made the following comments  “After such a difficult year I am so grateful for the opportunity to join GEMAR Team Lorini Honda for the rest of the World Supersport season. I have been working hard to ensure I am fully fit and in the best shape I can be for my first race in Portimao. I know how fast the guys in World Supersport are and I am not expecting it to be easy. The goal is to improve each session and close the gap to the front with one eye on 2019, as for sure a full season next year is something I am focused on. I can’t wait to get back out on track and want to thank Redfern Stevens, Bell Helmets, Mass Leathers, Gaerne and everyone else who has supported me in some way for keeping me on the grid”

Further updates on Alex’s progress will appear all weekend.
